Sign up with your email and a password, then complete the form. Submit it, pay any fee and book your appointment.

Check the fee

At an NIA district office, first registration is free under 25 and GH₵30 from age 25. Premium Centres charge GH₵410. Pay through CalBank: a branch, *771# or the CalBank app, or another approved platform.
Pay only through official channels. Don't pay anyone posing as NIA staff. -

Go in person to an NIA district or regional office, open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. No one can register for you.
Bring originals. Photocopies aren't accepted. -
6
Interview and biometrics
An officer interviews you and enters your details. Then your 10 fingerprints, irises, photo and signature are captured.
-
7
Check your printout
You'll get a printout of your details. Point out any mistake before you sign, because corrections after the card is printed cost a fee.
-
8
Collect your card
If you're 15 or older, your card is printed and issued on the spot where the network allows. If not, the officer tells you when and where to collect it.
Lost or damaged card? Get a Police Extract, then go to an NIA office. Replacement costs GH₵200 at a district office.
